There are many different types and models when it comes to the range of headphones. Types of headphones

There are both models that have to sit inside the ear, which is probably called the small classic model of headphones. These types are called in-ear models, and they are typically the ones that come with when you e.g. buys a new smartphone. The small in-ear model is very practical, as they do not take up much space in a bag, and thus you can always have them at hand. In addition, there is also both the model called on-ear, as well as the model we call over-ear. The difference between on-ear and over-ear is that on-ear sits on the ear, whereas over-ear sits over the ear, and thus covers the ear. Both mentioned models have both ear cups as well as a headband that goes over the head. The concrete difference is therefore inside the ear cups themselves. The on-ear thus sits on the ear, whereas the over-ear aims to enclose the ears completely. Over-ear is clearly the best type if you want to completely shut off from the outside world. It may also be beneficial to consider whether a pair of wireless headphones could be beneficial. Wireless headphones give a lot of freedom and the opportunity to have the sound with you no matter what you do as the annoying cord will not get in the way. The downside, however, is that you have to make sure to charge them occasionally so that you are sure to have power on them at all times when you need them.

A fun fact

A little funny info is that in order for something to be called a definite headset, it requires that there is a microphone either on or in the headset. It is primarily the model used in e.g. call centers or for computer games. In addition, they are also ingenious to have in the car, as that way you can have a conversation and still have your hands free. Based on this, you may need different types of headphones, depending on what you need your headphones for.
