Viking Footwear - Rubber boots in the highest quality

Viking Footwear was established in Askim, Norway in 1920 by Per Mathias Røwde. The company was at one time one of Norway's largest workplaces. In addition, in 1992 Viking Footwear was also one of the first companies to use GORE-TEX. However, they did not start out making rubber boots or water-repellent shoes. They debuted to produce galoshes, which are a rubber coating that was supposed to protect leather shoes from getting wet and muddy. From there it went fast. They gradually expanded production to not just rubber boots but also shoes, sandals, boots and soccer shoes. In 1931, they also added rubber tires to vehicles to their list of products. Today, however, they specialize only in footwear. At GearFreak.uk we are therefore both proud of and happy to be suppliers of these ingenious boots.

Viking Footwear is handmade in natural materials

In the early 18th century, the Amazon plant Hevea brasiliensis was first discovered, which is a so-called rubber tree. This wood emits a special juice, namely latex, which is used to make products in rubber. The juice is found under the bark of the tree, which easily flows out when the bark is cut up. This is done very carefully as a wrong cut can inhibit the growth of the tree. The juice is tapped and comes through a process called vulcanization. This method was invented by the American Charles Goodyear in 1839, which made it possible to produce rubber. Vulcanization is a process that makes rubber stronger, more flexible and resistant to the many conditions of the climate. The discovery of vulcanization enriched various cities in Brazil and Peru. Today, however, the trees are also found in Southeast Asia and West Africa.

Rubber boots from Viking Footwear have undergone more than 50 different procedures from the start of production to arrival in stores.

Best in test

With a pair of rubber boots from Viking Footwear , you are guaranteed the absolute best on the market. Your feet stay dry, even on the rainiest days, as these boots have a quick-drying polyester lining. In addition, most of the models also have adjustable details. This allows you to either loosen or tighten the shaft so that the boot fits snugly around your legs. At the same time, you are guaranteed high comfort with the boots' insoles, which are also removable.

In our selection you will find, among other things, these models: Trophy 3.0, Fauna, Full Klaff, Hedda and Victory II. Full Klaff also means jackpot in Norwegian. You can therefore not help but think that you then have to win the big prize with the purchase of this boot. However, do not ignore the other models. To give just a few examples, Trophy 3.0 has been rated the best in tests, and Victory II has a reflective tape, so you are visible on the walk in the dark.

Trophy 3.0, Victory II and Fauna are equipped with Viking Footwear's very own sole technology, namely UGC (Ultimate Grip Concept). This technology is about making sure you are standing well and safely on the ground. This was accomplished via a rough pattern under the boot with knobs crisscrossing each other. The soles are also shock-absorbing. Viking Footwear rubber boots also weigh 30% less than other rubber boots. It is their own unique rubber compound that is not as compact and thereby reduces weight.

A small silicone sponge is also included for each pair for the best treatment of your new Viking Footwear boots.
