Sako history
The story starts in Finland back in 1921 and was then called Suojeluskuntain Ase- ja Konepaja Osakeyhtiö - or put in Danish, the Firearms and Machine Workshop for civilian forces. The idea was that the factory would supply weapons to the Finnish Civil Guard, which played a major role during World War II. Over time, Sako changed focus by adding more value to top-quality productions, creating innovative solutions to the shooter's prominent needs and the appreciation of the factory's skilled and hard-working craftsmen and employees. Today, they primarily produce rifles with associated cartridges and other extra equipment for both military and hunting, and they ensure through its many products that customers get a bone-hard accuracy. Today, Sako is a world-class rifle manufacturer and an honorary member of 'the Baretta Group'.
High quality in Sako products
In fact, high quality is not enough, Sako demands perfection in every detail! The production uses a combination of the well-known traditional knowledge of the artisan craft together with the latest high-tech machines and innovative designs. To avoid mistakes in production, the individual Sako rifle is assembled by a single employee, who takes great pride in his responsibility to provide you with a flawless weapon and ensure your safety. The individual parts undergo all quality checks before being assembled for the final rifle. Below is an employee from Sako personally examining each individual pipe that is manufactured to ensure that it is flawless on the inside. Only when the employee is 100% satisfied, the rifle is assembled and test fired five times. The first two times to check the strength of the barrel and then three times to ensure the optimum accuracy of the shot. These tests are all performed personally and not by machines, as Sako knows how important it is for a hunter to be able to trust his equipment.
