KONG Italy - Advanced climbing equipment from the Italian Alps
KONG spa Italy, or just KONG, is an Italian company with roots dating back to the 1830s, when the company started as a smithy. In the 1970s, KONG began making carabiners for all kinds of industrial purposes, after which they quickly discovered how good they were at climbing and mountaineering. As the years went by, however, KONG became more and more involved in the manufacture of high-tech climbing equipment from the best materials. The technological know-how and the quality-conscious manufacturing methods have been preserved from generation to generation in all the years of forging workshop. KONG today manufactures some of the market's most advanced equipment for climbing, rescue, cave climbing, sailing and industrial work at great heights, thanks to the many years of experience.
The company first got its name KONG in 1977 when the company moved into a brand new factory located right at the foot of the Italian Alps, not far from the border with Switzerland. A completely conscious choice, so KONG manufactures all their climbing equipment in the perfect surroundings, where the mountaineers move right outside. The factory has been expanded over the years, and today is over 12,000 square meters, which houses some of the most modern machines and high-tech robots for the production of the unique climbing equipment KONG Italy is known for.

Everything that KONG manufactures from climbing equipment and accessories for climbing is classified as personal protective equipment (PPE, Personal Protective Equipment), which places very high demands on control throughout all production phases. Ongoing inspections and certifications are carried out simultaneously by external laboratories and test centers, which carry out strength and fracture tests from all productions and consignments. Climbing equipment from KONG is therefore certified according to the prestigious ISO.9001 for quality assurance.
Because climbing equipment from KONG is so good and safe, their equipment is used today by many rescue services and is also used on board rescue helicopters when the doctor, rescuer or patient needs to be hoisted from or to the ground.
