Katadyn - water purification equipment
Katadyn dates back to 1928 and was founded by Alexander Krause when he developed a chemical agent for the processing and preservation of drinking water, which has since become one of the leading companies in the world for small water purification equipment and handheld systems for purifying dirty water so it becomes potable water. The first mobile water filter was developed in 1952. Since its inception, this product has undergone a development, with Katadyn filtering the water through filter cartridges made of ceramic, fiberglass or activated carbon. The Vario model from Katadyn includes a double-acting pump function and a three-part filter - ceramic pre-filter, activated carbon filter and 0.3 micron fiberglass membrane. This ensures that 99.9% of the bacteria are removed.

Katadyn produces mechanical water filters and several different tablets for treating drinking water. It was this product that the founder developed many years ago and has since further developed. Micropur is sold both in tablet form, as a powder or in liquid form, as well as in several variants:
Micropur consists only of silver chloride, which makes it suitable drinking water to be purified of bacteria and algae in fresh water
In addition to Micropur forte, it also contains Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NaDcc), which sterilizes drinking water faster and cleanses viruses, bacteria and Giardia. The purified drinking water is also preserved for up to 6 months due to the silver ions.
