Härkila

There is a long and proud history behind the Härkila brand as we know it today. Originally, its name comes from a Swedish family-owned farm dating back to the 17th century, when the family were big hunting enthusiasts. They made a living by hunting and had a business selling both furs and meat. As a regular part of the herd, they had the most well-behaved hunting dogs. As the rumors spread across the plains, a dog kennel was quickly opened up, where the family made a lot of money from breeding world-class hunting dogs.

In the latter half of the 19th century, the family began to focus on the development of hunting clothes and thus the brand Härkila emerged. With an incredible amount of know-how, the application of leading technologies in the market and a huge passion for hunting, the people behind Härkila have managed to create a collection of hunting clothes that always keep you warm, comfortable and dry, no matter what climate and terrain you are in. you in.

Härkila is a Scandinavian brand, where the Scandinavian hunting opportunities, nature and climate are taken into account in the development. Härkila is part of the Seeland Group, where they make up 40% of the total turnover and is one of the most well-known and used hunting brands in Denmark. The reason for the great success is that the brand is designed by hunters for hunters and they never compromise on their equipment. Although the company primarily focuses on Scandinavia, they also develop equipment for hunting in Siberia and on the savannah. Regardless of terrain and weather, the focus is on keeping the hunter dry, warm and comfortable. They offer equipment you can trust and clothes that make even your slightest movement quiet.

Härkila design

At Härkila, it is a long process to develop each individual product. In fact, the development extends over at least two years, and many times a product can be up to four years in the making. Therefore, it is important to have a good team of employees and a clear sense of how the industry is changing going forward.

Each production begins with a meeting of salespeople, designers and hunters, who jointly brainstorm the latest changes and challenges. A two-round prototype of the new garment is being developed. Each time it has to go through different tests and be optimized and finally a product sample is produced.

Only the latest technologies are used in the development, including a mix of traditional leather and wool with the most advanced material in the world. Intelligent and smart materials are looked at that can breathe and keep water out, without the use of a membrane, to keep the hunter dry and warm regardless of the type of hunt. They even go a step further and make the hunting clothes silent and add optimal flexibility. Only the best is good enough, which presents challenges in the design, as it can be difficult to make clothes silent when at the same time it has to be as strong and light as possible. Furthermore, Härkila is incredibly fixated on details all the way down to the direction of the zippers.

In Härkila's product line, you will find clothes for both women and men. As a starting point, both sexes have the same needs, and therefore there is no difference in the materials. Only in fit and appearance there is a slight difference. Härkila has a principle of never compromising, which contributes to a slightly higher price and an incredibly low percentage of complaints. In other words: it's clothes that last!

Härkila is trying to implement silent elements throughout their production, which has paved the way for magnetic closures in large parts of their equipment. For example, they have launched a binocular harness with magnetic closure. The harness is fastened to the body so that the binoculars do not hang and flutter and create sound when hunters crawl across the grass.

There is a constant focus on functionality and comfort with Härkila's products. It is also reflected in their production of backpacks. Some are i.a. developed with special pockets for eg thermoses. Many also come with compression bags, so you can pack clothes without it filling up. The bag is 100% waterproof, so it can keep the equipment dry all day. Since the people behind the brand themselves are experienced hunters, they know that many hours are spent in nature, and a break along the way may be needed. Therefore, several of their backpacks are developed as a combination of a backpack and a chair.

In addition to the countless bags and cases, Härkila also offers a wide range of knives. Experience, among other things, the joy of work with a Legan pocket knife. The knife is easy to operate with one hand, has a side lock and is incredibly easy to clean, which is extremely practical when you are in nature. The blade is stainless and made of AUS steel, which makes the knife incredibly hardy. Härkila chainsaw is another good thing to bring on the slightly longer outdoor trip. The saw is easy to transport as it can be folded. It has two blade positions and the blade is lockable. It is suitable for cutting into bones, so you can chase your own dinner in nature and really get the experience of living in and of nature, with all it has to offer you.

Härkila boots for all kinds of weather and terrain

Härkila also produces high quality hunting boots. Although the boots are designed for hunters, they can easily be used by the great outdoor enthusiast. The boots are designed to withstand all kinds of terrain and weather. Several of the boots are developed with Gore-Tex, which makes them resistant to all kinds of weather in the long run. In the development of the boots, there is a focus on comfort and breathability, no matter how long the foot must be in the boot at a time. There is also a focus on stability to keep your feet stable along the way, no matter what surface you walk on. They do this, among other things, via shock absorption to spare the load on the feet. In addition, the boots come with temperature control to avoid both hot and cold feet, as one's feet often change temperature along the way. Härkila boots have been developed with lining for insulation in the shaft, a special Indian sole that takes into account the comfort and insulation around the foot. In addition, the outsole ensures a solid foothold, the lace guarantees a fit for your particular foot and the heel nut on the heel makes the boot quiet when you sit down.

All outer soles are made in collaboration with Vibram, while the insoles are from the brand Ortholite. All the boots lean a lot towards the sporting world and can therefore also be used for hiking. If you are tired of boots getting dirty in the car, you can also buy the delicious boot bag from Härkila. The bag makes it easy to carry your boots, while at the same time protecting them and the surface of the car.
